- When
- 10/28/2025
As a convenience to parents, METROPLEX EDUCATIONAL CONSULTANTS INC will provide VISION and HEARING screenings to all our new students at PHS-Arlington this school year, and returning students who missed or enrolled after the screenings in March of 2025.
The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) mandates these screenings at specific ages and grades to identify potential issues early.
These screenings are mandatory for specific grades, as outlined in the Texas Health Code.
The screenings will be done during the school day on Campus. If you have health screening documentation from a licensed professional dated within the last 12 months, please supply this to the school. All required students will be screened unless the school is notified, an opt-out form is received, or documentation is submitted before the screening date.
If a parent or teacher is concerned about a student in a non-mandatory grade or who has missed a screening, don't hesitate to contact the school. MEC follows the school's safety protocols, and a staff member is always present at the screenings.
